Celebrities who are Catholic

Image result for you can have faith and fame as well, christian

I don’t know where I would be without my faith right now.                                              Just like everybody else, I am not immune to the trials and tribulations of life, the ups and downs, the bad and the ugly times. But I honestly say that my faith has helped me have hope, see things clearer, brought me comfort, solved problems and kept me on the narrow and straight path as much as I can.

This doesn’t mean that I am perfect, far from it,  but I aspire to the teachings of Jesus Christ and when hard times come, I pray and the answer comes.

I love hearing about celebrities who have kept their faith, it must be harder for them been in Hollywood and in front of the media, but they are testimony that you can have both fame and aspire to being godly.

WE NEED WARRIORS FOR CHRIST IN THIS FALLEN WORLD_Jim Caviezel thinks so

Image result for Matthew 3:2

If you don’t know that we are living in  a spiritual battle, then you’re kidding yourself! The enemy- Satan,  is having a field day fooling  people, making them believe that he doesn’t exist. Make no mistake about it, he is alive awaiting to ruin the souls of those who are weak, have little or no faith and who don’t live a godly life. “We are a culture in decline, our whole world is entrenched in sin! “ says Jim Caviezel.

Matthew 3:2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”[a

The world as I see it now, is changing at an alarming rate. Society is moving towards a fluid gender, redefining marriage, euthanasia, abortion, lack of freedom of speech, fake media, secularism, drugs, depression and anxiety, crime etc. I know by talking to people and from observation, that we are entrenched in sin!!! The world still needs to be saved.

Here’s the catch!!! When Jesus comes again, it will be His final. There is no salvation beyond death. We all need to wake up and go back, back to the truth, because it’s only the truth through Jesus Christ, that will set us free.

Thank God for Mel Gibson who directed his first religious movie with the “PASSION OF THE CHRIST”and who is now in his final stage of completing the sequel- “THE RESURRECTION.” His first movie “THE PASSION” became the most popular independent movie ever made.

Mel Gibson took a real gamble with the first one, he wasn’t in it for the money because he stood to lose everything,  but for his passion for Christ. The same could be said  for the main actor- Jim Caviezel who plays the role of Christ. If you listen to his testimony, you will hear that he had  a calling , he even has the same initials JC.   Mel Gibson told him in a phone conversation that he may never work in Hollywood again after making the movie, but again for his passion for Christ,  Jim Caviezel went ahead with it. Just listen to his testimonies below!!!!! All I can say is what followers of Christ both of these men are.

Jim sacrificed his health to complete the two movies and not because he had to, but because he wanted to. How many people can boast that they are true followers of Christ and have taken up their crosses willingly for Christ?

You may think that the health issues Jim had to endure during the movies were collateral damage. Not quite! When the enemy knows you are about to change, convert, build, evangelise for the Kingdom of God, be sure that the enemy is going to try and derail, disturb, destroy, mame, kill etc…. however he can, for whatever  will raise and build up the kingdom of God. But Jesus conquered death and ransomed his life for ours. There is power in the name of Jesus Christ. But you have to want it, pray it, live it.

The movie is in its third year of production and it should be coming out this year I would think, during this Easter season which ends with the feast of the Ascension- the fortieth day after Easter Sunday, commemorating the Ascension of Christ into heaven,  according to Mark 16:19Luke 24:51, and Acts 1:2. As it is written in “The Apostles Creed,” Jesus descended into hell, (imagine the battle scenes there) to collect his faithfuls from the Old Testament because prior to Jesus’death and resurrection no-one could enter heaven. Jesus ransomed Himself so that we may have new life with Him.  Hence death and new life comes through Jesus Christ only.

Below are some excerpts, testimonies and interviews so that you can judge for yourself.

Then, if you want to be a follower and not just a fan of Christ, stand up for the truth, be a warrior for Christ, make your life a little uncomfortable,  pray, fast, worship the God who died to know you_ JESUS THE CHRIST!! The alpha and the omega.

INSPIRATION THAT WILL FEED YOUR SOUL – BY R.A. TORREY

I recently came across R. A. Torrey-a great evangelist with interesting things to say that caught my eye (see link) –R.A.Torrey history.

HERE IS SOME FOOD TO FEED YOUR SOUL

It is very easy to put our trust and beliefs in the power of man, but not so in giving God the gratitude He deserves. Giving gratitude to God who allows goodness and success into our lives and who takes away what is harmful and evil, are often dismissed as coincidences or the work of men.  Because these are often intangibles and that which we cannot immediately see, they often go unnoticed.  Make no mistake about it, God is at work in our lives moment by moment, weaving a web of connectedness that will affect all spheres of our lives and others around us.

Some things God does are to teach us something, some things are to give us something, some things are for us to hold on to and some things are for us to give away. Some things are immediate while some things take time because all that we think and do is in keeping with the gift of free will. Sometimes we hold ourselves back because we don’t understand things or because we don’t trust in God. But God is patient, loving, rich in mercy and kind. Think of Him as your Father and what does a Father want for His children? The best of course!

In patience and trust is how we should live our lives, because God has mapped out all of it for us. All we need do is pray and communicate with God through prayer. All we need do is claim it, that which God has already given to us in a box and is sitting there with Him in heaven with your name on it. We should ask for mercy and forgiveness and have a heaven perspective. Make each day a little sacrifice or offering to God so that He can grant you His peace, His grace and His abundance.

Heavenly Father,

You are our rock and our refuge. You are our armor, our protection, and our sword. You gave us your Son Jesus to fight our battles and we thank You.

We praise You and honour You for all you have given and for all you have removed, for all You have allowed and for all You have forbidden.

Our world is in crisis right now, and Pope Francis has put himself forward as your instrument of peace.

Lord, protect Pope Francis at all times, especially during his visit to Egypt.         Cover Pope Francis with the precious blood of Jesus and block anything in his way that  is not from You and preserve him in his most hour of need,
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

THE WORLD NEEDS CHRISTMAS!

THE WORLD NEEDS CHRISTMAS!

Image result for gentle baby jesus

Statistics show that during this time of the year more family feuds begin, divorces and suicides go up, more people die from natural causes, there are more bankruptcies, gambling debts, psychiatrists’ patients suffer regressions etc…..

Have you ever considered why???? There is pressure to be perfect! To buy the most expensive presents, you have to go on holidays etc………

But are we missing the point?????

THE ENEMY IS FRANTICALLY AT WORK ESPECIALLY DURING CHRISTMAS AND EASTER !!! AFTER ALL, GOD HAD A PLAN TO SAVE MANKIND,           THE ENEMY DIDN’T LIKE THAT!!!!

At Christmas and Easter people feel the need to go to church more and pray. People come together as families to celebrate, people are generally happier and want to spend more time with friends, they give more to others, they give to the poor. So the enemy feels under threat and what does he do????? He fights harder!!!!

When Jesus came into the world, Satan lost his power because Jesus overcame death through the cross. Jesus is now ruler of this universe.

The enemy hates the thought of Jesus Christ. God wanted to live among us, so He gave us His Son Jesus Christ because we needed to be saved, saved from the snares of the evil one, saved from eternal damnation. Satan is often referred to as:- the deceiver, the accuser, the father of lies, the prince of /power of darkness etc.

in Luke 10:18. Jesus also said that his mission on earth was “to defeat the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8).  Satan has the advantage over us in that he is an invisible powerful spirit.  One of his greatest tricks on us is to convince so many of us that he doesn’t even exist,

We should all know that whenever we sin seriously, satan and his devils get a toehold on our life, and the lives of our family members.

Since satan has finally figured out that he cannot get at God, he goes for His children here on earth – US!!!.  It’s no different than the mafia knowing that it can hurt you worse if it kills your kids.  However, lucky for us that Jesus established a Church here on earth that regularly dispenses sanctifying grace to us, which is the only way we can defeat satan.

Satan knows our weaknesses and he will start with those. The sense of satan knowing that a family member has gambling issues, alcohol and drug addictions, pornography, infidelity etc…satan will use these weaknesses in others and harass people  to break families apart.

DON’T PANIC!! YOU CAN ENGAGE THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST. Jesus Christ taught us:-

Repentance,

Forgiveness,

Prayer

ALL THESE WILL KEEP THE ENEMY AT BAY.

JESUS IS OUR HOPE AND OUR SALVATION!!!

So during this advent season ( 4 weeks before Christmas) look to Jesus and his disciple- Bishop Oscar Romero who left us with this quote:-

IRON SHARPENS IRON

Proverbs 27:17 ………’Iron sharpens iron’     What does it mean?                           Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” When iron blades are rubbed together, each becomes sharper and thus more effective. Likewise, when believers are involved in one another’s lives, mutual edification occurs. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 is a similar passage: “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!  Humans were created for fellowship (Genesis 2:18).You cannot reflect God to others if you don’t interact with people. You cannot grow in faith if you don’t think, talk, share, test, ask, clarify, address, simplify, quantify, explain or examine your faith with others. Faith grows when it’s shared, thus in proverbs we have this metaphor.“Iron sharpen iron.”                                          Two minds are better that one. Together we can achieve more. There is strength in unity. Of course, God doesn’t want us to miss out on having some fun, but He wants the type of fun that is good and praiseworthy. Fun that brings people , children, families and groups together. People that can pray and have fun together and share their troubles and tribulations.

kingdom of god

When I look back to my childhood, it makes me think of how I had my grandparents, uncles, aunties or older cousins that looked after me while my parents worked. This other analogy clearly shows me that raising a child was not just for two people.

“It takes a whole village to raise a child.”    Igbo and Yoruba (Nigeria) Proverb.

The basic meaning is that child upbringing is a communal effort.           Like growing in faith should bebecause nothing grows without love, friendship, faith, respect, honesty, hard work and communication.

Similarly, it takes fellowship with other people to grow in faith and to grow the Kingdom of God.
