LOVE IS…………

I love this quote as it embodies all that we we could be for one another. Here I’m not just referring to love between a man and a woman, but love between siblings, a son and a father a mother and a daughter, a father and a daughter and mother and a son, love between friends etc…..

It is love that brought us here. God loved us first, there is nothing you have to do to earn God’s love because He loves us unconditionally, it is for love that Jesus gave his sacrifice.

Verse 13 in Corinthians says…

Love is eternal. There are inspired messages, but they are temporary; there are gifts of speaking in strange tongues, but they will cease; there is knowledge, but it will pass. For our gifts of knowledge and of inspired messages are only partial; 10 but when what is perfect comes, then what is partial will disappear.

11 When I was a child, my speech, feelings, and thinking were all those of a child; now that I am an adult, I have no more use for childish ways.12 What we see now is like a dim image in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face. What I know now is only partial; then it will be complete—as complete as God’s knowledge of me.

So if love is not your motivating factor in your everyday, then nothing falls into place.

JOY IS NOT DEPENDENT ON OUR CIRCUMSTANCES

Whether you accept this or not, we are programmed for God. God is our maker and creator. God has given you your heart, God has given us all a free will. God doesn’t want robots, God wants us to choose Him, He respects the choices we make and in no way interferes with that. Our life choices and the sins of others may have bad consequences, we can’t blame God for that. God doesn’t cause bad things to happen. Our burdens can be lighter if we have God in us.

Our God is a God of impossibilities who makes things possible. God doesn’t want you to have mediocrity, God doesn’t want you to be poor either, God wants you ask big, to have abundance and have it to the full. This doesn’t mean you’ll get everything you ask for but, God will give you what is better for you in the long run. This doesn’t mean there won’t be hard times, but just know that throughout those hard times, God is there helping you to grow and align a better outcome for you. Sometimes the hard times can teach us lessons in life, sometimes those hard times can force a change that will help us grow, may be to have more patience, honesty, humility, good work ethics etc….

To get there, you have to understand that joy comes from within……. that space in your heart that only God can fill, needs to be fed. When things are right between you and God everything falls into place, at exactly the time of God’s choosing.   Here are some things you can do.

  • MAKE GOD AND JESUS  THE CENTRE OF YOUR LIFE
  • THERE IS POWER IN THE CROSS THAT JESUS BORE FOR OUR SINS
  • PRAISE GOD AND HIS SON JESUS CHRIST
  • KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE
  • REPENT
  • FORGIVE
  • PRAY
  • BLESS AND THANK YOUR FATHER & CREATOR GOD
  • REMAIN STRONG AND HAVE FAITH

You might think this is a bit crass, but I have seen God’s hand at  work many times

in my life and others.

EASTER JOY – ALLELUIA !!!!!!! – GIVEN TO YOU FREELY

Apostles-Easter-Card-2015-side-11.jpgWe too can enjoy in the new life that Jesus’ Resurrection promises, but there are conditions, we need to stay along the path that is straight and narrow.             “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7 13-15)

A narrow gate is harder to pass through than one that is wide, and only a few people can go through a narrow gate at once. In saying “difficult is the way which leads to eternal life,” Jesus was explaining how hard being a Christian really is.

HOWEVER, it also means that you don’t follow trends and fads and be of the world because the world is broken and can lead to destruction.

GOD NEVER CHANGES, WHAT WAS, IS, FOREVER WILL BE. God knew what He was doing when He created the world, the message hasn’t changed even though the tides change. God never said it would be easy, but He promised it would be worth it!!!  (Matthew 7 13-15)

PRAYER

Dear Lord,                                                                                                                             Help us to never forget how much You loved the world that You gave us your only Son- Jesus Christ to redeem us. Help us to appreciate the selfless sacrifice Jesus made so that we may have new life. Please make us strong so that we can keep on the narrow path and our names to be written in the book of life and to share in the glory of heaven. AMEN

JESUS THE VINE-WE ARE THE BRANCHES

Jesus told his disciples a story to teach them the importance of staying connected to him.  Jesus used the example of a vine. The vine is a plant with a lot of branches growing out from it. The branches have fruit on them, the branches should have grapes on them. Have you ever seen a branch that has been broken off of a tree or a vine? It withers up and dies. Can it ever have any fruit on it again? No!
Jesus said, “I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me, you will have much fruit, but apart from me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) Jesus wants us to produce a lot of fruit. Good fruit like being kind, generous, and faithful. Most of all, he wants us to love others as he has loved us.
Can we do that on our own? No way.  Just as the branches must be connected to the vine before they can produce fruit, you and I must stay connected to Jesus to produce the good fruit that God expects of us.

PRAYER

Dear Father, help us to remember that we need to stay connected to Jesus if we are going to produce the kind of fruit you expect. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Christian meditation is synonymous to Mindfulness

“Be still and know that I am God.”  Psalm 46:10

Many religions have their own version of meditation. ‘Mindfulness,’which has become a trend right now, has buddhist origins. As christians, we have an obligation to ensure that our actions are pleasing to God, that what we think, do and say bring glory to Him. Therefore, we need to find out the origins of the things we do and not be led by what feels good and what is trendy.  Christian meditation has been around for decades and the christian version was founded by a benedictine monk named John Main focussing on the values of Jesus and in the spirit of christian meditative prayer.

ASK, SEEK, KNOCK- ASK GOD AND ASK BIG

A father loves his children. God loves us more than humanly possible. Our earthly fathers want the best for us too. However, If fathers think that what you are asking is not good, then I doubt it whether he would give it to you at all. If you need help from God… then… “Seek and it shall be answered” (Matthew 7:7). No matter how big the problem, God is your Heavenly Father who wants to help you always. If God created the earth and the oceans, the sun and the moon etc… if God can part the sea and move mountains, your problems aren’t big for God to solve at all. So when you need help, even material help, ask God and ask BIG, because He will meet you where you’re at.  God can change rules, policies, statutes overnight or in an instant. God is the God of impossibilities who makes things possible. God wants to give you what you need, God wants you to have it all if it’s the right thing for you.

GOD THE FATHER – THE GIVER OF ALL SPIRITUAL WEALTH

One never knows how God will answer prayers. But if you trust the Lord and lean not on your own understanding, He will give you the desires of your heart     ( Proverbs 3:5-6). This might not be in the way you had imagined or at the time of your choosing but God waits and chooses the exact right time for you to receive his blessings, the time when you’re equipped to best handle them so that you can grow according to what God has planned for you. Remember that in heaven there is no time only eternity.
