I’m not a feminist because I don’t believe I was put on this earth to outsmart or outdo men or vice versa. Men are smart, women are smart, it’s no contest. It’s just that God put men and women together differently, biologically and emotionally. He wanted to build societies that would flourish and prosper with both men and women working to their God given potential.
God has made men differently to women, He meant for both men and women to live side by side each embracing the other’s unique gifts and talents to better themselves, their children and society. We all know that strong individuals make strong families, strong families make strong communities, strong communities make strong societies.
I believe that God had a plan, a plan that would have our lives all mapped out for us, a life that would bring glory to Him, peace, joy and prosperity to mankind, if we cared to follow that plan.
But we haven’t!!!!! Ask the person beside you if they know the ten commandments? Sure, they might be able to recite one or two ( keeping in mind that today’s basic common law has come out of the bible) but I doubt very much whether they would know the rest.
I don’t believe we have strong societies today. Crimes up, suicide up, human slavery up, poverty up, broken families up, drug abuse up, depression and mental problems up, not respecting authority up etc… I wouldn’t say this reflects strong, happy and prosperous societies ?????????? WHY????? Because people are confused as to what their unique roles are, what the boundaries are, what their confines are then we are emotionally and physically spoiling our children and then poisoning their minds with radical, gender ideologies and theories and the waters get muddier by the day.
Now, I’m not attempting to profess that life is easy. No!!! Life is not easy, but it sure is easier when you stay within your confines. Now I have worked as a professional for over thirty seven years and I have had a great professional career in teaching. I have had to liaise with many different students, people, groups, committees, organisations, each knowing their roles within them and sharing a common set of beliefs. This was all for the prosperity of its people and staff. I’m proud to say that I knew my confines, I spoke up when it was appropriate and allowed democracy to lead the way. All this making it easier to function and continue to work there on a daily basis. I am proud to say that I have just retired from my job, leaving it all behind with a sense of achievement and respect from my contemporaries.
This hasn’t come automatically, I have had to work at it everyday and maintain a positive outlook and live my professional life within my confines. I have had to live through many reviews, follow rules, policies, amendments, adjustments, improvements, etc…….. I know that I had to respect authority, my leaders, my contemporaries and the community I served. I had to keep a professional relationship with them all and uphold and maintain a common set of beliefs and standards. If I didn’t, well then…………… I really shouldn’t have been there, I wouldn’t have fit in and eventually I would have been shown the door.
We all have other interests and extra curricula activities as adults and children, we choose to belong to various sporting/interest groups, dance/ hobby, arts clubs etc… Well!!!!! They too have rules and standards they expect their patrons and subscribes to uphold. How else would they be able to function ?????? The same could be said for most of us, where our behaviour and attitude would dictate whether we belong or not belong to a particular club or group.
Going back to the statement above about men standing up and being counted, we need strong men( and women) now more than ever. But how do we do that, you might ask??????? I think I have well established the notion that a common set of beliefs, rules, regulations and standards are part of belonging to a group and keeping it orderly so that it can function and prosper. Similarly, for the smooth running of our lives, we need to follow rules and standards, the ones that God has set out for us. The ones that Jesus exampled to us- JESUS- who modelled how men and women should live, think, act and behave. Mary chosen by God to be the mother of our Saviour, modelled how women should act and behave. So, instead of complicating our lives with garbage that Hollywood, the media and society thrusts upon us, we can say NO and not alter our beliefs to fit in with society’s, but increase our faith in God and look to Jesus and biblical truth for the answers we need.
I don’t believe that Jesus expected us to all die on a cross like He did. As a matter of truth how much do we owe Him for that? We owe Him everything, for choosing death on the cross so that we may have eternal life in heaven with Him. What Jesus expects of us is to look up to Him and aspire to be more and more like Him everyday through submission to Him, prayer, abstinence, forgiveness, repentance and a willingness to have a relationship with Him.
Please pray with me if you believe this and wish to make changes in your life.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
