You might say ..”I’m glad this year is over…………..” but did you stop to think of all the great things that may have come your way???????  It’s always the negatives and the things that have held us back that we think of first.

Keep in mind that death and sickness will always be there, as these are part of everyone’s life, but have you stopped to think at how those trialling and difficult times have helped you grow????? Probably not.

Well !!!!! Let me help you put things in perspective a little.

Speaking from experience, all those times people talked about me at work, it didn’t really matter because the truth speaks for itself.  People have their own biases and flaws, we should not measure ourselves according to other people’s standards.

So those difficult times that have been thrown at me,  actually helped me grow stronger. They helped me focus on what was important. The times my colleagues didn’t invite me to lunch, well they did me a favour because I wasn’t really interested in their narcissistic conversations anyway. The times I didn’t get that promotion, the extra money and the  curse words I would have received, wouldn’t have been worth all the extra worry and critics wanting me to fail. I proceeded to do all aspects of my job, all the little things and big things in a great way, because I was proud of my work and efforts and I allowed these to speak for themselves and they have (If they don’t, it’s your cue to move on).

People made positive comments or noticed all my efforts. Sure it took longer but I did it for myself and my pride in my work and not for the glory. Money wasn’t going to make me happy, promotions neither. Not being true to who you are can hurt more, instead I chose the narrow road and I know that God has blessed me because it felt right and I didn’t worry about the rest who were chasing the next dollar, promotion, right circle of friends etc. I look at all this and see my God at work.

I know people who have done jobs that were below them, that were paid half what they were worth but the lessons learnt and contacts made from those jobs, were priceless, they propelled them to the next level and so on until they got where they wanted, because God was working in their lives. Because they were steadfast and had faith that good things would come because God is the giver, the almighty and the all powerful one.

As the new year is fast approaching let us be thankful for what He has given, for what He has removed, for what He has omitted and for what is to come. With God’s hand upon us, His favour, His blessings and His Son Jesus,  we can grow, prosper and succeed to the level that makes us truly happy and at peace.

I wish the steadfast hand of God upon you all,  the peace of Jesus and the gifts of the Holy Spirit that will propel you to the level that will prosper you and hold you in God’s favour.

Jesus comes for all people

The perfect gift is Jesus !!!!!

Jesus- Son of God and Son of Man (in the Gospel of John, the emphasis on Jesus is to show us that He is the Son of God and Son of man) was prophesied in the Old Testament, Jesus the fulfillment of that prophesy. Jesus the saviour, Jesus the redeemer, Jesus the Messiah. Prophesies from the Old Testament coming true in its fulfilment of the promise of a Saviour.  God through the face of Jesus delivering on His promises. This is one way to give credence to the prophets of the OT.

Below is one of my favourite Christmas songs from biblical inspiration.

Jesus who gave up his crown to be with the lowest of the low. Jesus who came into this world with so little but gave so much. Jesus was to show us a new way to live, a new way that would lead us all to salvation.

You don’t have to earn Jesus’ love. He has loved you first.

So, for the price of Jesus coming and living among us, what do we need to do?

To make a friend in Jesus, to pray to Him, to ask Him, to worship Him,  make Jesus your best friend., that’s all. Why? Because He is our hope in this dark world.

You might think this is cheesy but that’s half the problem today with society, the minute you speak on spiritual matters you are regarded as old fashioned or out of touch. If you can’t prove it, it doesn’t exist. They couldn’t be more wrong.

I speak with truth and conviction. In my darkest times when I prayed,  Jesus has always come through, Jesus made my burdens lighter and not to think of what He has removed from harm’s way. Jesus who is at work moment by moment aligning our paths with God’s will, if we let Him.

FAITH is the precursor, without it, you are blocking the power of Jesus Christ.

So on this Christmas 2017, I have spent it with my husband, beautiful daughters and family who love Christmas because it has been instilled in them since they were born.

On Christmas Eve, together we went to church, together we prayed and together we celebrated over two days joined by other family members. What could be better?

I’d like to wish you all what I have-LOVE, PEACE, and JOY in my heart. May the spirit of Christmas enfold you everyday and may Jesus come into your hearts to dispel all darkness and infill it with peace and joy.

Mark 13:33-37(Gospel for Sunday-3rd Dec.)

33 Be on guard! Be alert[a]! You do not know when that time will come.34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.

35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’

I often hear people say why are we waiting for Jesus if He has already come, TRUE!

But don”t we celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations every year?

We live in a fallen world and what a great way to start with advent, to change our ways, to turn back to God, to make Jesus the centre of our lives.

I love the Advent wreath as it helps us focus on Jesus, it helps us keep track of what is to come.  Especially during Advent we open our hearts to God. I try to do that and speaking from experience, I always find myself ahead. I give money and I always have money in my wallet, I help people and there’s always someone there to help me. I fall and by the grace of God, He picks me up, I pray for people and God is there to help them too. God has promised to never leave us and  If you live your life right, God will catch up with you.

As we wait and prepare this Christmas, we are also waiting and preparing for Jesus’s second coming. We do not know the hour , we do not know the day nor year. We can only be redeemed by the grace of God. He knows what’s in our hearts and we should do everything in our power to try and be the best versions of ourselves.  We should keep a heaven perspective. We prepare our holidays, a marriage, children, to buy a house, to retire etc… well then why not for our eternal future???????????
