I was born into the faith and I have had my share of ups and downs in life just like everybody else, I have questioned my faith at times too.  I can earnestly say that if it weren’t for my faith, I wouldn’t know where I’d be now. Today I am at peace because I know God is taking care of things for me and my family. I know God is working because He answers my prayers.

I’ve noticed that when people are at the end of their tether, they find themselves in great despair, that’s because they are working by their own power. God’s almighty power can help us through our trials and tribulations if we have faith and pray. He has given us His Son Jesus Christ to fight our battles, Jesus can command his angels and bring forth peace, joy, restoration and renewed faith. Jesus said……….   ” I am the way the truth and the life” (John 14:6)

I recently saw this great movie based on real life events see (other post under Movies:_”The case for Christ”) where the husband was an unbeliever and the wife started to believe in God when she met a nurse in a hospital who helped her child. Her search for God caused problems in their relationship, the husband preferred the old wife, but things started to change……… So this movie reminded me of a great bible quote (see below     EZEKIEL 36:26).                                                       Things changed when the wife prayed this bible quote. Similarly, if you have a family member or friend who doesn’t believe, pray the above bible quote and give them to God.Image result for A STONY HEART TO A HEART OF GOD

THIS IS WHAT IT MEANS……. A new heart; a renewed frame of soul, a disposition and mind changed from sinful to holy, from evil to good, from carnal to spiritual.

A new spirit: tells us what the new heart is…. a new holy frame in the spirit of man, which is put in him, not found in him; given to him, not wrought by his own power.

The stony heart;  that is hardened by the deceitfulness of sin; this evil heart shall be taken away, and this God will do, who only can do it.

Out of your flesh, put for the man,  that is, a heart different from the stony, hard heart, receiving the impress of God, as softened wax receiveth the impress of the seal.       ( Matthew Henry Bible Commentary)

THE SHORT ANSWER TO THAT IS YES!!!! Here’s why?Image result for Deuteronomy 32:4

Many people I speak to say that God is no longer relevant today? I really don’t understand that. What?…has God disappeared? Has God left the heavenlies?

I recently attended a church ”Confirmation” ceremony of around 56 students, 11-12 year olds, their sponsors, siblings with family and extended family members plus the supporting classroom teachers and support staff. All in all the congregation was around 850 people.

The church had beautiful flowers, it was clean and warm inside and everything was prepared efficiently by the teachers and volunteers, so that it would be a  reverent and special night for the students and their families.

Now, that would have to be a good thing, yes, of course! But consider this:-people waiting for the ceremony to start in a disorderly and noisy fashion, excessive talking before and after, criticizing and judging what others were wearing, noise during the Mass readings  and prayers, children calling out holding up 5, 10, 20 or 50 cent pieces for their parents( the only offering for the offertory, some didn’t even put any.( I saw it clearly because I took the collection and sorted the money and I was counting heads for a church census).

I was really embarrassed, and disturbed that people could show such disrespect and lack of dignity to our Lord Jesus Christ and for the lack of recognition to the priests, bishops and school staff and students who had prepared for this one night.

Churches have to be maintained, heating and cooling has to be provided, the church has to be dressed for the occasion, insurance has to be paid and priests have to live too. I saw little support and recognition from the congregation. I didn’t see any building of the Kingdom either.

People were too preoccupied with themselves, how they looked and the parties they were going to. Actions and words tell a lot about the person, the non-verbals can be stronger than words.

God doesn’t ask much of us. A one hour investment once a week for your future(afterlife) is cheap compared to the trouble some people go to for the quest of that fountain of youth, not to mention the money it costs.

So why am I sharing this? Because I believe that our religious need to be supported now more than ever, they give so much of their time and dedicate their lives for the building of the Kingdom and perhaps some of us don’t even appreciate it nor care. Well, we should care, because we only get one life to live, one life that will determine our final destiny.

Did Jesus not die for humanity? Was Fatima and its message not real?(see previous post). Make no mistake, God is there watching and counting and giving us plenty of opportunities to follow Him. God is our Father and we are His children. We belong to Him whether we believe it or not! At the end, He is the final judge and your life will flash before you and there will be no hiding from the truth. Heaven is real but so is hell. (see visions that the children of Fatima had after seeing hell).

How sad? Are their lives not worth saving? Eternity is an awfully long time. Have they not heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? (Genesis 19: 23-29)

Here’s what the bible says about order and stability.( Excerpts from BIBLE GATEWAYS)

Deuteronomy 32:4

“The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.

If God, who is the creator of everything, can actually have a relationship with us because of what Jesus did for us, then surely we can find stability in Him. He is the reason we can be stable. He is the One who is at work, at all times, in all circumstances, and never becomes unstable.

  • Anxious of your future?
  • Thinking our country is headed in the wrong direction?
  • Worried about your kids or your family?
  • Struggling in your own personal relationships with others?
  • Obsessed with the balance of your bank account?

Whatever it is in your life that is leading you to think you are unstable, will never overtake God. While there are difficult circumstances to go through, you can trust in the One who is stable, to lead you through it. The more we can look up to God, and not look to ourselves, the more stable we will become.

Psalm 62:1-2 – For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

1 Peter 5:10 – And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Proverbs 10:9 – Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.

1 John 2:10 – Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.

Psalm 103:19 – The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.

Jude 1:24-25 – Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Gratitude for my Mother

Dear Lord, today I turn to you to give you thanks for my mother. With your own gift of life, she bore me in her womb and gave me life. She tenderly, patiently cared for me and taught me to walk and talk. She read to me and made me laugh. No one delighted in my successes more; no one could comfort me better in my failures. I am so grateful for how she mothered me and mentored me, and even disciplined me.

Please bless her, Lord, and comfort her. Help her loving heart to continue to love and give of herself to others. Strengthen her when she is down and give her hope when she is discouraged.

Most of all, Lord, on this Mother’s Day, give my mother the graces she most needs and desires today. I ask you this, in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior forever and ever. (from Prayers by and for Mothers)

On the Cross, Jesus did not proclaim Mary’s universal motherhood formally, but established a concrete maternal relationship between her and the beloved disciple John and us all. (John 19:26-27) 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[a] here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

Our world is in turmoil right now, many of us have lost our way, people are leaving the church in droves , there is little or no regulation, relativism is growing, evil is destroying our nature – the nature that God gave us. We need to turn back to God Jesus and Mary our mother.

Mary, at Fatima in 1917, felt the need to make herself known to us because of the evil in the world. The thing is, nothing’s changed, if anything, we have not learnt by our mistakes. We need to consecrate ourselves to Her.

Jesus showed us how He listens to Mary at the wedding at Cana, this is where Jesus performed His first miracle (John 2:1-11).

Mary is our link between Heaven and Earth, She can help you when you pray to Her.

  • Mary gave us the miracle of the son at Fatima, this was witnessed by 70,000 people.
  • Mary identified herself as our Lady of the Rosary.
  • One of those messages  was to pray the rosary. Mary had many message for the three children to pass on to the world.(see links)
  • Mary is our intercessor that can help us through her Son Jesus Christ.
  • Mary predicted, the end of the First World War and the prediction of the second. She also predicted Hiroshima, monks who were there, living the message of Fatima, were unharmed by it.
  • Mary gave the three children visions of hell and told them that praying the rosary would prevent others going to hell.
  • We’ve seen the end of the cold war, walls come down, Jubilee 2000 was a global campaign that led ultimately, to the cancellation of more than $100 billion of debt owed by 35 of the poorest countries.
  • Many catastrophes have been prevented because of Mary, our intercessory prayers have reduced the time and effects of wars.
  • Russia today has returned to international politics after it was consecrated to the heart of Mary. Saint John Paul II in St. Peter’s Square on 25 March 1984, for example, consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  More recently, Pope Francis in October 2013 consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in front of some 150,000 pilgrims in Rome.

(above) actor – Mike Vogel who plays the role of Lee Strobel (see below)

From a true story on Lee Strobel’s real life experiences who went on to become a believer and pastor and then write books about Jesus Christ.  The movie addresses all the historical evidence and medical proof that Jesus Christ did die and that the resurrection was witnessed at different times by 500 people . One of the most compelling being Paul of Tarsus who was persecuting Christians and who became a believer himself and went on to write 13 letters which became books in the New Testament. I fully recommend it and it’s well worth watching.

I had never thought about what it might be like to not have a partner who doesn’t believe, until now.

Not having a partner who shares the same beliefs as you, can have its challenges. It affects your relationship with that partner, your parents, friends, the way you bring up your children, your view of the world and your place in the universe and ultimately your final destination.
