The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord, then from these come the fruits. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God . . . If children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ. The fruits of the Spirit are perfections that the Holy Spirit forms in us as the first fruits of eternal glory.

1.Come Holy Spirit, fill my heart with love and my mind with light.                     Please infill me afresh with the gifts of.. (name gifts)  in the name of               Jesus  Christ. AMEN

2.Breathe into me, Spirit of God  that I may think what is holy.
Drive me, Spirit of God, that I may do what is holy.
Draw me, Spirit of God, that I may love what is holy.
Strengthen me, Spirit of God, that I may preserve what is holy.
Guide me, Spirit of God, that I may never lose what is holy.  AMEN

  1. I’m curious – the twelve listed above feature four which are not mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 (I note that the nine I am familiar with are listed on your ‘About me’ page).
Where are ‘charity’, ‘chastity’, ‘generosity’ and ‘modesty’ (all worthy virtues) identified as fruits of the Spirit, and what causes ‘love’ to be omitted?

    1. Love—is the fruit which is the same as charity. We exhibit the virtue of charity, or love, by our unselfish devotion and care for God and our neighbour. The passage in Matthew’s Gospel chapter 7 helps us to understand the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, The tradition of the Church lists 12 fruits:
      charity generosity
      joy gentleness
      peace faithfulness
      patience modesty
      kindness self-control
      goodness chastity

(Thanks for your comments, I do understand that there is confusion out there in the number and the names attributed to the gifts and fruits )
